MORE ABOUT TANYA
Dr. Tanya McMillan has a long history working in alternative health care. Starting her journey as a Registered Massage Therapist in 2006 and working within the community of Airdrie for over ten years. She has both professional and personal experience in the treatment of chronic pain. After having a failed spinal surgery at just 26 years old, then soon after being diagnosed with Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (a rare genetic disease that affects the connective tissue in the body, creating hypermobile joints while increasing the frequency of injuries to those joints). After years of frustration with the limited treatment options available through western medicine she embarked on a journey to discover the wide range of treatments available through alternative medicine including acupuncture, herbs, vital supplements, Naturopathy, pilates strength and stability training, Prolotherapy, PRP therapy, yoga, reiki and meditation.
Through these years of personal and professional experience Dr. Tanya has developed a wealth of knowledge, skills, compassion and determination to help those wanting to reach their optimal health and wellness.
After many difficult years figuring out what works and what didn’t, Dr. Tanya now enjoys a healthy and active lifestyle, when she is not working she enjoys backwoods camping, hiking, travelling to see archeological ruins and anything involving creativity in the kitchen.
